  1. Hey Karin
Your presentation is very clear and I enjoyed reading it. I think that repetition is one of the most used (and sometimes abused) ways to teach anything, especially language. I do see the positive aspects of it, but I agree that we must find new and original ways to repeat what we teach otherwise it gets boring, not only for the students- but for teachers as well. I teach my pupils vocabulary using pictures and flashcards, and I have to tell you that sometimes I feel like they lose interest and get tired of the repetition, and so am I.... therefore- we have to repeat things wisely :)

    Dear Karin,
Great presentation! The PPT itself was very neat, clear and organized. It was built so well, it is clear that you put a lot of thought into the order of the slides and that you looked into every term that was in it. You spoke extremely well; you were fluent, engaging and passionate. I enjoyed your presentation very much.
A great part of my enjoyment is due to your theme. As a student, I never liked repetition and practicing the same material over and over again. Therefore, as a teacher, I often did a disservice to my students by "saving" them the hustle. Your presentation only reinforced my recognition that must students do need some repetition.
Moreover, your term corresponds with other terms and theories. For example, it connects to the Lexical priming theory; the more the learners see some word combinations, the better they'll remember them (see my comment on M for Memory). Another example is the concept "Drilling"; this method it is based upon repetition.
To conclude, you've done an amazing job, way to go!

  3. Hi Karin,
I really enjoyed your presentation, I thought it was great. Your PPT is very organized and clear. It is visible that you had put a lot of time and thought into it. It was really interesting and informative and I like how our terms are so connected to each other. Memory plays a critical part in repetition and without it I don’t think there is much point to it, but that's just my opinion.
    What do you think?

  4. Hi,
    Your presentation was amazing.
Before the presentation I was confused and I didn't know the difference between drilling and repetition, But you explained it so well that now I know and it's only because of you. So, I really want to thank you. In addition, now I know the advantages of repetition and why it's so important.
    Oriya.

  5. Dear Karin,

I think you did a great job, and your presentation was really interesting and easy to understand. As teachers, we definitely need to repeat things a lot of times in order to be sure that our pupils acquired the new material. But like Reut and you mentioned, we have to think about new ways to do it because sometimes it can be really boring and exhausting.

  6. Thank you for your comments! Repetition is a very interesting issue when it comes to teaching, and we must use it wisely so we won't replace repetition in drilling…..

Shirley, as for your comment about the memory – memory is crucial for repetition, but sometimes through repetition you can remember and learn new things. I teach special education, and from my experience, repetition is one of the ways to teach children with autism for instance. The teachers keep repeat the material they want to teach, such as communication skills, and it works wonderfully!
